City of Titusville shows the love

Effective July 1, 2010 The city of Titusville Florida will increase their building permit fees by over 40%. That's right, in the midst of the great recession the city is out to screw it's residents with another tax hike. Permit fees, based on the dollar valuation of the job, for jobs from $1,001 - $50,000, basically most small jobs, will increase from the base value of $52.50 to $75.00. As if that's not enough, there's also a non-refundable "administration" fee which will increase from $20.00 to $25.00. There's also the plans examination fee which will increase as well, as it is valued at 1/2 of the building permit fee.
Keep in mind, that if something in your house breaks, or needs repair, you need to get a permit. At a time when Americans can least afford it, our local governments are out for blood!
